Self-Swot Analysis

Teamwork

My experience as a scholar-athlete, combined with roles in group projects and years on sports teams, has honed my ability to collaborate and lead. These experiences have also strengthened my emotional intelligence, enabling me to work effectively with diverse groups—skills that are highly valued in the workplace, particularly in the sports industry.

Strengths

Diverse Experience

I bring a broad range of experiences, from co-founding a nonprofit focused on community issues to gaining hands-on experience in sales, marketing, and customer service roles. These experiences have helped me develop a versatile skill set, including adaptability, problem-solving, and effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Leadership and Initiative

I have demonstrated leadership through my involvement in various initiatives, such as serving on the Board of Jacob's Closet & Emerald Mission, where I helped drive key projects. Additionally, as a scholar-athlete, I have taken the initiative to mentor and support younger teammates, fostering a positive team culture and leading by example.

Weaknesses

Balancing Commitments

Balancing my numerous commitments requires strategic time management and prioritization to ensure none are neglected.  Developing a sustainable routine and learning to delegate tasks when possible is essential in maintaining my productivity levels and my well-being.

Limited Industry Specific Experience

While I have solid experience in customer service and sales, I need to gain more direct experience in finance and sports business to strengthen my industry-specific skillset and better prepare myself for the workforce.

Leverage Sports Background

Expanding Network

I will continue leveraging my school and fraternity connections, as well as industry-related extracurriculars like the Business of Sports Society, to grow my professional network in both the business and sports sectors.

My passion for sports and finance can be merged to target opportunities in sports management, finance roles within sports organizations, or sports business analytics.

Threats

Competitive Job Market

Both the finance and sports industries are highly competitive, so it’s important to continuously develop niche skills and stay up to date with industry trends to stand out.

Economic Uncertainty

Like any industry, economic changes could impact job availability, particularly in sports or entertainment, which are often affected by discretionary spending patterns.
